Introducing, on the drums, our new band member in Celso Paco & Dynamo De Luxe! Raymond Karlsson plays music in many genres and has been a part of the Swedish music scene for many years and has also performed internationally. Throughout his career, he’s been a member of bands such as Hawk on Flight and Ulf Wakenius Group, both of which made several albums and toured extensively. He has played with international jazz artists such as Bob Berg, Bob Brookmeyer, Niels-Henning Örsted-Pedersen, Art Farmer and Horace Palm. In configurations ranging from trios to big bands he has put his own touch on the music, with his signature treatment of the rhythms. We are very happy to have Raymond with us for the next stage of our polyrhythmic journey with Celso Paco & Dynamo De Luxe!

We have the pleasure to introduce a special guest on drums: Mr. Frank Paco. Like his brother Celso, Frank is an internationally renowned musician, composer and singer in genres such as jazz, fusion, Afro and pop. Ever since he left his hometown Maputo in Mozambique for South Africa at 16, he has been perfecting his skills. In 2020 he became a resident of Reunion Island.

Frank has backed a wide variety of artists such as Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Angelique Kidjo, Jimmy Cliff, Johnny Clegg, Peter Gabriel, Bono, and Papa Wemba, but he has also acted as a band leader and producer in his own right, notably with his band Frank Paco Art Ensemble.

Frank joined us at the African Jazz Club in Stockholm in February 2020, for an unforgettable gig. Since then, however, travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic have kept us apart.
